Welcome!
We are so glad to have you on our website and we hope to see you Sunday! Below are answers to frequently asked questions about our church, the building, and our services!
Q: Where should I park?
A: There are guest parking spaces by the main door for your convenience. If these are full, any spot all the way back to our pavilion can be yours!
Q: Do you have Sunday school for my kids and where is it located?
A: We do! Sunday school classes are available for all kids. These classes are in the basement of the church and begin at 9:30 every Sunday morning. Classes are divided by age groups. Any one of our teachers are available to help you figure out which class your child belongs in. Be sure to introduce yourself to the teacher and remember to come pick up your child before service starts - for their safety, the teachers will not let them leave the room until you come to get them!
Q: Do you have a nursery?
A: Yes, we have a staffed nursery during Sunday school classes as well as Worship Service. Check it out!
Q: Do you have adult Sunday school classes as well?
A: We sure do! There are a couple to choose from - one is located in the Fellowship Hall, another takes place with Russ Bowman at Dunkin Donuts next door and we have a New Member's Class with Tom Renner in our library.
Q: Where is the Fellowship Hall?
A: The Fellowship Hall is located upstairs and to the side of the sanctuary. You can get to it by going up the staircase in the foyer.
Q: What time does service start?
A: Sunday worship service is at 10:45. It usually goes until 11:45/12pm
Q: How should I dress?
A: Your presence is what counts, not what you wear so, dress in whatever you're comfortable in! We have those who wear their "Sunday best", some in khakis or skirts, and some in jeans or shorts.
Q: What should I expect?
A: Worship at Rootstown COH is blended in style. That means you can expect to hear both the contemporary music you hear on radio stations like the Fish and the hymns you may have grown up with. Most Sundays all of this music will be led by our praise band.
Q: Do you have Children's Church or somewhere my child goes during the sermon?
A: Yes, there is a dedicated time during the service for your children to learn about Jesus or another person from the Bible. Before the kids got to Children's Church, the pastor asks all children come up for Children's Chat. They are given a message, listen to a story, or see a puppet show! Then, they are escorted by teachers to their classes for Children's Church. These classes are in the Fellowship Hall and the basement. Typically it is the same place your child had their Sunday School lesson. As with Sunday school, you must pick your child up after church -- for their safety, they will not be allowed to roam the church to find you!
Q: How often is Communion?
A: Communion is the first Sunday of every month. You do not need to be a member of our church to participate - all are welcome!
